My hope is that you find information in each newsletter that is helpful to you- the Early Childhood Educator- as you work with this wonderful group called Preschoolers! This is the mini-newsletter that focuses on theme suggestions and new additions to the website. The FULL newsletter is sent out quarterly and is published in March, June, September and December. January 2014, Issue # 25 In This Issue: Website Plans for 2014 Theme Suggestions for January What’s New? Search It, Find It, Plan It! There are two major plans for the website this year: 1. This year there should be new workshops added every other month--that is the hope and plan. This past year was filled with a major move for us from the midwest to the east coast of the U.S., which put my workshop planning way behind. For that I apologize. 2. Due to the many questions and great email conversations regarding administration of preschool/childcare/family day care programs, I will be developing a sister site to Preschool Plan-It that will focus on the administrative side of preschool. Some of the topics to be covered will be: Budgeting (classroom budgets, setting tuition, collecting overdue tuition). Marketing (online, locally, in your community). Parent Education. And more! More information will come out later in the year once this site is built. ARE THERE ADMINISTRATION PRESCHOOL PROGRAM QUESTION YOU HAVE? If so, reply to this newsletter and let me know what topics you would like to be covered! CELEBRATION DAYS AND HOLIDAYS COMING UP: Happy New Year Theme Have a belated New Year celebration when you return to your classroom! You could also combine this with a theme about NOISE! Crash, Bang, BOOM Theme Combine this theme with your New Year celebration for a fun week long theme your first week back from Christmas break! Martin Luther King Day Theme Celebrated on Monday, January 20, 2014 Ground Hog Day Theme Ground Hog Day is Sunday, February 2, 2014--you may want to explore this theme in January! LET'S TALK HEALTHY FOR THE NEW YEAR! FUN AND TRADITIONAL WINTER THEMES Popcorn Theme Add Hot Chocolate and Pajama's for a fun themed week! What's New? The following pages were added to the website since the last newsletter: In-Service Workshops Looking to get some in-service hours in this month? This workshop might qualify in your state/province (check with your Director or Licensing Regulations to be sure): Science in the Preschool Classroom Online Workshop Themes now available for your E-Readers! More themes have been added as e-books for purchase. You can find the list of E-Books here! There is a small fee for each theme to help offset the time it takes to format and publish them. I will be formatting and publishing the remaining themes throught the fall so that they are all available by the end of the year.
