Preschool Play Programs

Preschool plays can be SO much fun when your focus is on the children enjoying the process and using books and stories they already know!

Here are some preschool concert programs with ideas for snacks and a service project idea for each!

Preschool Is Hoppin'!

Use the following books to act out some plays!  The children can act out the many different parts of the stories!

1.  It's Mine by Leo Lionni

2.  Jump, Frog, Jump! by Robert Kalan

You might have half the children act out the story It's Mine and have the other half act out Jump, Frog, Jump!  Then they would all come together to sing the song.

Or, brainstorm ways for all of your children to act out both stories!

3.  Five Green and Speckled Frogs!

Five green and speckled frogs (Hold up 5 fingers OR squat down like a frog and jump up when they sing "One jumped into the pool).

Sat on a speckled log
Eating the most delicious bugs. Yum! Yum!
One jumped into the pool
Where it was nice and cool
Now there are four green speckled frogs.

One jumped into the pool
Where it was nice and cool
Now there are three green speckled frogs

Now there are no more speckled frogs

Here is a great version book of this song!

Brrrr, It's Cold Outside!

1.  Act out The Mitten by Jan Brett

This is such a great book!  There are SO many ways to act this out!

Your preschoolers can act it out by having children hold up (to show the families) a stuffed animal for each animal as you read it and then place the animal in a large, white sock (make one out of fabric).

Or, Have the children dress up as each animal.  Make a large sock shaped carboard frame from a refrigerator box.  The children climb behind the cardboard frame so the families can see them.

Choose some of your favorite winter songs to sing and do hand motions to or just as a sing along!

2.  Frosty the Snowman

3.  Dance Like Snowflakes

Sung to Are You Sleeping

Dance like snowflakes!  Dance like snowflakes!

In the air, in the air.

Twirling, whirling snowflakes.

Floating here.  Floating there.

4.  The Cold Wind

Sung to Happy Birthday

The cold wind blows.

The cold wind blows.

It makes my body shiver.

From my head to my toes.

BRRRRRRR!

2.  Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?
